LAW enforcement officers closed in on one of the city’s most wanted fugitives after the Eastern Police District (EPD), through the Marikina City Police Station, apprehended a 42-year-old man on October 22, 2026.
The suspect, ranked as the station’s Level Top 3 most wanted person, was captured in connection with serious charges of sexual assault.
The apprehension took place at approximately 4:40 PM right beside the lobby of the Justice Hall Building located in Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City.
Operatives from Police Sub-Station 3 of the Marikina CPS executed the arrest pursuant to an active warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 192, Marikina City.
The warrant stems from charges filed under Article 266-A, paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act No. 7610, as amended by Republic Act No. 11648, which penalizes the abuse and exploitation of children.
According to statements provided by the 14-year-old victim, the first instance of abuse occurred on September 14, 2024, when her stepfather allegedly sexually assaulted her at an uncle’s residence.
A subsequent assault reportedly took place on June 21, 2025, at the suspect’s own home.
Following his apprehension, the accused was processed and is currently detained in the male holding cell at the Marikina CPS Custodial Facility, situated within the Justice Hall Building in Barangay Sta. Elena.
EPD District Director Police Brigadier General Roman C. Arugay praised the operating team for their swift execution of the court order.
“Every warrant served is a step toward accountability and the administration of justice,” PBGen. Arugay stated.
He emphasized that the district remains steadfast in pursuing fugitives, particularly those implicated in offenses against vulnerable youth, and vowed that the EPD will continue its intelligence-driven operations to keep local communities safe.
