AUTHORITIES in Pasay City arrested three individuals—including two facility workers—for the alleged theft of ₱183,000 worth of vital electrical equipment from a city pumping station, while a fourth suspect remains at large.
The incident at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Diokno Pumping Station along Diokno Boulevard in Barangay 76 came to light when discovered at around 8:27 A.M. on October 14, 2026.
Management formally reported the missing hardware to Sub-Station 1 (CCP Complex) later that afternoon at 1:00 P.M.
Stolen items included a 1000AT molded case circuit breaker valued at ₱100,000, 24 linear meters of 150 mm² THHN wire worth ₱33,000, a control wiring system worth ₱20,000, and a set of busbar and fittings valued at ₱30,000.
Following an ocular inspection and follow-up investigation by Sub-Station 1 and the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS), law enforcement launched a swift manhunt.
On October 15, IDMS personnel nabbed 46-year-old helper “Wilmar” inside the pumping station premises at 5:00 P.M. Shortly after, operating teams tracked down and arrested 34-year-old helper “Dream Boy” and 47-year-old parking attendant “Marcelo” at the nearby Diokno Boulevard impounding area.
A key witness positively identified the trio as the perpetrators who took the equipment without authorization.
Meanwhile, a fourth accomplice, 48-year-old facility helper “Panciano,” managed to evade arrest and is currently the subject of an ongoing manhunt.
All stolen equipment, valued at ₱183,000, has yet to be recovered. The three detained suspects face formal charges under Article 308 (Theft) of the Revised Penal Code.
Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor emphasized the district’s dedication to safeguarding public infrastructure.
“We remain committed to pursuing all available leads, apprehending the remaining suspect, and recovering the missing government property. We urge the public to cooperate with law enforcement authorities by providing any information that may help advance the investigation,” PBGen. Pastor stated.
