SUSTAINED law enforcement operations under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework have yielded a significant downward trend in crime across the metropolis, with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recording a 24.21% decline in reported focus crimes within a single week.

Data from the Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS) revealed that total incidents across the eight focus crimes dropped from 95 cases during the October 4–10 window to 72 cases from October 11–17, 2026.

This reduction represents 23 fewer victims and a safer environment for residents, workers, and commuters throughout Metro Manila.

Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, regional police units aggressively targeted high-impact offenses, driving substantial decreases across multiple categories.

Rape incidents plunged by 61.54% from 13 down to five, while physical injuries fell by 53.85% from 13 to six. Robbery cases decreased by 23.81% from 21 to 16, and theft dropped by 20.51% from 39 to 31.

Furthermore, homicide cases decreased from one to zero, with zero motor vehicle carnapping incidents recorded during the assessment period.

Despite these broad improvements, the latest crime evaluation highlighted murder, with eight incidents, and motorcycle carnapping, with six incidents, as priority areas requiring immediate strategic intervention.

In response, Abrahano directed localized police units to step up targeted operations and maintain tighter monitoring along these specific criminal vectors.

Concurrently, the NCRPO maintained high investigative performance metrics, posting a Crime Clearance Efficiency of 81.94% and a Crime Solution Efficiency of 75%.

This reinforced overall institutional accountability and swift case resolution across the region.

“The reduction in focus crimes is encouraging, but our work does not stop with improving numbers. Every police unit must strengthen crime prevention, accelerate investigations, and ensure that our operations produce concrete results. Hindi lang pagbaba ng krimen ang ating layunin, kundi ang mas mabilis na pagresolba ng mga kaso at mas ligtas na komunidad,” Abrahano stressed.

The NCRPO remains steadfast in its implementation of EMPO—leveraging strategic personnel deployment, intelligence-driven operations, and proactive investigative follow-through to permanently suppress emerging crime patterns across Metro Manila.
