THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has issued a stern warning to all police personnel against the unauthorized use of government-issued fuel and police vehicles for personal matters, emphasizing that public resources must be strictly dedicated to official law enforcement duties.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano directed all regional police districts and operational units to step up monitoring on vehicle dispatch records, mileage, trip tickets, and fuel consumption.

Commanders were instructed to immediately investigate any unexplained or unusual fuel use, optimize patrol routes, and ensure that fleets are well-maintained for optimal operational readiness.

“Government fuel is not personal fuel, and police vehicles are not for personal use. These are public resources entrusted to us to serve the people. Anyone who misuses them will be held accountable,” PBGen. Abrahano stated.

At the same time, the NCRPO chief clarified that resource conservation measures must never compromise public safety or police visibility.

Essential services such as emergency responses, active patrol coverage, and criminal investigations must remain unhampered.

Efficiency, he stressed, means wise resource management without reducing responsiveness to community needs.

Unit commanders have been tasked with enforcing strict compliance within their respective ranks.

Personnel caught utilizing government assets for unauthorized or personal activities face severe administrative sanctions, which may include suspension or dismissal from the service.

Furthermore, violators will be held personally liable for any misuse, financial loss, or unauthorized expenditures.

“There will be no special treatment. Regardless of rank, anyone who misuses government resources must answer for it. Every liter of government fuel and every police vehicle must serve its intended purpose—protecting the people and maintaining peace and order in Metro Manila,” Abrahano warned.

The directive underscores the NCRPO leadership’s ongoing campaign to enforce institutional discipline, transparency, and the responsible stewardship of public property across all Metro Manila police units.
