IN a major blow against the regional illegal drug trade, operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested two newly identified high-value individuals and seized approximately ₱1.02 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Hagonoy on October 20, 2026.
The joint entrapment operation was executed around 7:25 p.m. near the exit road gate leading to MRT Avenue along Acacia Avenue.
The sting was spearheaded by the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) in close coordination with Sub-Station 9 of the Taguig City Police Station.
The suspects were identified as 26-year-old female alias “Patty” and 24-year-old male alias “Weng,” both residents of Barangay Hagonoy.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
Two sachets, alongside the marked buy-bust money and a white long envelope, were confiscated from alias “Patty,” while an additional two sachets were recovered from alias “Weng.”
The seized contraband weighed an estimated 150 grams and carried a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱1,020,000.
All evidence was properly inventoried and marked at the scene for evidentiary preservation.
Following their apprehension, the suspects were transported to the SPD-DDEU headquarters for documentation.
They face formal criminal complaints for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor lauded the successful operation and emphasized the district’s unyielding stance against narcotics.
“Every day, we will intensify our efforts to track down and arrest those involved in the illegal drug trade,” PBGen. Pastor stated. “Our operations will continue without letup, using intelligence-driven strategies and strong police coordination to keep illegal drugs off our streets and protect our communities.”
The SPD continues to urge the public to cooperate by reporting suspected illicit drug activities to local authorities to help maintain safety and order across the district.
