FOLLOWING the successful conclusion of the 1st Metro Manila School Safety and Security Summit 2026, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has committed to bolstering its campus safety frameworks across the capital.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano instructed all five Metro Manila police districts to move beyond traditional patrols and translate the summit’s insights into concrete, sustained preventive measures.

Police commanders are now tasked with identifying vulnerable schools, establishing direct lines of communication with administrators, and maintaining regular engagement rather than waiting for incidents to occur.

To address potential threats early, police units have been directed to sharpen their capability to recognize warning signs from students, teachers, parents, and online sources.

PBGen. Abrahano emphasized that online spaces circulating threats must be carefully monitored and assessed without causing unnecessary panic.

Furthermore, law enforcers must review emergency response layouts, map potential access barriers, and conduct coordinated drills with schools and emergency responders.

“In a school emergency, the first few minutes can make a difference.

Readiness cannot begin only when an emergency call comes in; it has to be built beforehand,” Abrahano noted.

Authorities will also promote the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) protocol to help school communities handle active-threat situations effectively.

By fostering a collaborative safety culture among families, school personnel, and law enforcement, the NCRPO aims to ensure a secure and conducive learning environment for every student across Metro Manila.
