THE Eastern Police District (EPD) continues to champion personnel welfare through its flagship “Alagang EPD Program,” reaching out to officers and non-uniformed personnel facing severe medical challenges and injuries.
Spearheaded by District Director PBGen Roman C Arugay, recent outreach operations highlight the organization’s core philosophy: “Walang Pulis at NUP na Maiiwan.”
On October 7 and 8, 2026, designated EPD welfare teams conducted a series of heartfelt home visitations across Metro Manila and nearby provinces to deliver personal encouragement and financial assistance.
The outreach series began on October 7 at the PNP Housing in Barangay Pinugay, Baras, Rizal, where a team visited Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) Fernando F Quinto of the Marikina City Police Station.
NUP Quinto recently underwent a right leg amputation due to diabetes-related complications.
Facilitated by PEMS Dennis V Baltazar and NUPAS OIC Josephine Jose, the team handed over financial contributions from EPD leadership, including ADDDO PCol Reynaldo M Maclang, and fellow NUP members to help ease his medical recovery.

The following day, October 8, the delegation extended support to active-duty personnel recovering from accidents and medical conditions.
At around 2:00 PM, the team visited PSSg Alvin A Abella, assigned at the DPIO, at his residence in Sta. Mesa, Manila, to aid his ongoing medical treatment.
Later that afternoon at 3:30 PM, the team proceeded to the home of PMaj Emil Garcia in Batasan, Quezon City, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Both visits were orchestrated under the initiative of PLTCOL Jandale I Sulit and PEMS Dennis V Baltazar, alongside DCADD Chief Clerk PCMS Dexter Natividad.
During each visit, officials formally turned over financial assistance to help augment medical and related expenses.
Beyond monetary support, the visits served as a vital morale booster, reinforcing camaraderie, unity, and a genuine sense of belonging within the police force.
Through the Alagang EPD Program, the District steadfastly demonstrates that its commitment to its workforce extends far beyond active duty, cultivating an enduring culture of compassion, solidarity, and unwavering support during times of hardship.
