THE Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) intensified its anti-criminality drive throughout September, arresting 725 drug suspects and confiscating more than ₱18.4 million worth of illicit substances across Central Visayas.
According to regional accomplishment reports, police units conducted a total of 661 anti-drug operations during the month, which included buy-bust stings, the execution of search and arrest warrants, and rapid police responses.
The aggressive sweep successfully netted watchlisted individuals as well as newly identified drug personalities.
The operations yielded over two kilograms of shabu valued at PHP14,994,884, alongside dried marijuana leaves and sticks worth ₱3,422,156.
The combined haul totaled ₱18,417,040, marking a significant blow to illegal drug supply networks operating within the region.
Appropriate criminal charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act have since been filed against all arrested suspects in court.
PRO7 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold E. Abad emphasized that law enforcement efforts against the narcotics trade remain unyielding.
“Our fight against illegal drugs remains relentless. Every operation is an effort to protect our communities, prevent the spread of illegal drugs, and create safer and more resilient communities across Central Visayas,” PBGen Abad stated.
He also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration and community partnerships in maintaining regional peace and order.
