THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), with the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement partners, seized ₱32.78 million worth of dangerous drugs and arrested 125 suspected drug personalities in nationwide operations from August 20–27, 2026.
Across the week, PDEA and its partners conducted 80 anti–illegal drug activities, including buy-bust operations, interdictions, search-and-seizure missions, and the service of search warrants.
Those arrested included 73 alleged pushers, 17 drug-den clients or visitors, 16 den maintainers or owners, 10 den employees, and nine suspected possessors.
Recovered items totaled 2,366.64 grams of crystalline methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), 1 ml of liquid shabu, 3,756 ecstasy tablets, 2,838 grams of ecstasy, 6,282 grams of marijuana kush, 1,770.71 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 154.39 ml of marijuana oil, 4.26 grams of marijuana resin, and 511 grams of ketamine.
A highlight of the week was an interdiction at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) by PDEA’s National Capital Region office and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), which intercepted shipments of shabu, ecstasy, marijuana kush, and ketamine before they could enter the local market.
Intelligence-led buy-busts also yielded significant results: one suspect and 497.82 grams of shabu in Mabalacat City, Pampanga; another suspect with 142.22 grams of shabu in Tigbauan, Iloilo; and two suspects with 100 grams of shabu in San Jose, Antique.
These operations were complemented by continued supply-reduction efforts targeting marijuana cultivation and distribution networks nationwide.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez praised the coordinated efforts of operating units and partner agencies, stressing that each successful interdiction keeps dangerous drugs away from communities.
Nerez said PDEA will keep pursuing traffickers, high-value targets, organized drug groups, drug dens, and marijuana-related operations that sustain the illegal trade.
“The fight against illegal drugs is a shared responsibility,” Nerez said, calling on communities to help protect families and youth by reporting drug activity.
