THE Philippine National Police (PNP), led by Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., successfully apprehended two high-value drug personalities and seized a combined total of approximately ₱14.6 million worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-drug operations conducted on August 29, 2026, in Las Piñas City and Camarines Sur.
In Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City, a coordinated buy-bust operation involving the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG), Southern Police District’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Sub-Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) NCR resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old male suspect.
Authorities confiscated around 2,000 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱13.6 million, along with buy-bust money and other evidence.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur, another buy-bust operation led by the Bula Municipal Police Station, Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5, and PNP DEG resulted in the arrest of a second male high-value drug personality.
Officers recovered approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱1.02 million, along with buy-bust money.
Together, the operations yielded about 2.15 kilograms of suspected shabu, effectively removing a significant quantity of dangerous drugs from circulation.
PNP Chief PGen. Nartatez highlighted that these successes demonstrate the power of intelligence-driven, lawful police action.
“We will remain focused on dismantling criminal activities and ensuring that cases arising from our operations are properly brought before the courts,” he said.
He further emphasized the broader goal of the campaign, stating, “The fight against illegal drugs is not just about arrests. It is also crucial to cut the supply before it reaches users and destroys more families.”
The arrested suspects remain in police custody pending proper legal proceedings, while the confiscated drugs have been submitted for laboratory examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
