OPERATIVES of the Parañaque City Police Station under the Southern Police District (SPD) apprehended two men early Monday morning, October 19, 2026, after they allegedly attempted to dodge a police checkpoint and brandished a replica firearm along the East Service Road in Barangay San Martin de Porres.

The suspects, identified as 23-year-old alias “Vincent” and 26-year-old alias “Kevin,” now face complaints for violating Republic Act No. 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code), Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code for disobedience to authority, and Republic Act No. 10591 concerning firearms regulations.

The incident unfolded at approximately 2:45 a.m. while personnel from the Marcelo Green Police Sub-Station were conducting an Oplan Sita checkpoint near a gasoline station along the East Service Road.

Officers flagged down a black Honda Click motorcycle traveling without a rear license plate.

Instead of stopping, the driver sped past the checkpoint, triggering a brief pursuit that ended when police intercepted the vehicle in front of Waltermart Mall.

During the interception, the back rider allegedly drew a gun and aimed it at a police officer.

Quick-thinking backup personnel swiftly neutralized the threat and subdued both suspects.

Subsequent inspection revealed the weapon was a replica firearm.

Authorities seized the replica gun along with two backpacks containing miscellaneous items, including two license plates, balaclavas, cable ties, an iPod, identification cards, and personal wallets.

The unlabeled motorcycle was also impounded.

Furthermore, the driver received a traffic ticket for driving without a license, operating an unregistered plate, and reckless driving.

The suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights and transferred to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for proper documentation and filing of criminal charges.

SPD District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor highlighted the success of the operation as a testament to seamless inter-unit cooperation under the district’s “Timpuyog” policing framework.

“We ensure that our police units work hand in hand in responding to incidents and pursuing individuals who attempt to evade law enforcement,” PBGen. Pastor stated. “Our coordination must remain swift and effective, regardless of jurisdictional boundaries, to uphold the law and protect our communities.”
