THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has officially filed multiple criminal charges against the 38-year-old suspect linked to the fatal shooting of three individuals, including a minor, in Barangay Batasan Hills last October 12, 2026.
Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo announced that three counts of murder have been lodged against the suspect, identified by the alias “Vin.”
In addition to murder, the suspect faces charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA No. 11235 (Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act).
The tragic incident occurred at around 2:00 AM on October 12 along Senatorial Street corner Batasan-San Mateo Road.
Following immediate follow-up operations, personnel from Batasan Police Station 6 apprehended the suspect at approximately 3:00 AM along Sinagtala Street in the same barangay and recovered a 9mm pistol believed to have been used in the crime.
Subsequent investigations and forensic tests heavily bolstered the case against the suspect.
The Regional Civil Security Unit–National Capital Region (RCSU-NCR) verified that the suspect possessed no License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), and the recovered firearm had no corresponding record in the system.
Furthermore, the suspect yielded positive results for gunpowder residue on both hands, while autopsy reports indicated that all three victims died of hypovolemia caused by multiple gunshot wounds to the trunk.
While the exact motive and broader circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation, authorities are pressing forward to ensure full accountability.
Expressing his sympathies to the families affected, PBGen.
The suspect remains in police custody as the formal legal proceedings progress before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
