THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has formally reaffirmed its commitment to back local government units (LGUs) across Metro Manila in rolling out programs dedicated to public welfare, community development, and enhanced local security.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano emphasized that law enforcement extends beyond traditional peace and order.
He noted that police units share a vital responsibility in ensuring that government projects and social initiatives are implemented within safe, orderly, and accessible environments.
“Ang tungkulin ng pulisya ay hindi lamang panatilihin ang kapayapaan at kaayusan, kundi suportahan din ang mga programang direktang nakikinabang ang ating mga kababayan. We will work closely with our local government partners to help ensure that these initiatives reach the people they are intended to serve,” Abrahano stated.
These collaborative efforts directly support the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Safer Metro Manila Plan.
The strategy prioritizes heightened police visibility in high-density zones, robust police-barangay coordination, and stronger community trust.
Furthermore, the initiative aligns with PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.’s “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman” agenda, which champions responsive policing and active partnerships.
To execute this vision, the NCRPO’s five police districts and local operating units will partner with LGUs to manage crowds, regulate traffic during public activities, and secure distribution venues or project sites.
Station commanders have been directed to maintain open communication with local executives and barangay officials to address security risks proactively and prevent any disruptions to public service delivery.
Abrahano also stressed that security protocols must remain professional and respectful, especially when safeguarding vulnerable communities, aid beneficiaries, and residents affected by urban redevelopment.
Through these concerted actions, the NCRPO aims to foster a secure environment where local governments can effectively serve their constituents and drive regional progress.
