THE Eastern Police District (EPD) has reported a notable 12.62% decline in overall crime volume following a weeklong anti-criminality campaign conducted across its jurisdiction from October 5 to 11, 2026.

Spearheaded by District Director PBGen. Roman C. Arugay, the security push resulted in a drop of 13 recorded incidents.

According to district records, total crime incidents fell from 103 during the previous week of September 28 to October 4 down to 90 incidents during the active campaign window.

The achievement was driven by intensified law enforcement operations, heightened police visibility, and strong coordination among police units and local stakeholders.

A key highlight of the campaign occurred on October 8 in Mandaluyong City, where authorities successfully apprehended a robbery suspect and recovered stolen photography gadgets and equipment valued at approximately ₱1.9 million.

  • Loose Firearms: Two operations yielded two arrests and the recovery of two unlicensed firearms.
  • Manhunt Operations: Authorities captured 3 Top Most Wanted Persons, 5 Most Wanted Persons, and 60 Other Wanted Persons.

The success of the weeklong initiative was attributed to the collaborative efforts of the Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City Police Stations (PaMaMariSan CPS), the District Mobile Force Battalion, and local civilian partners.

“Our personnel remain committed to preventing crime, enforcing the law, and protecting our communities,” said PBGEN Arugay.

“We will continue to strengthen our operations and work closely with our communities and local stakeholders toward a safer Eastern Police District,” Arugay emphasized.

Looking ahead, EPD plans to maintain its momentum by maximizing surveillance technology, elevating investigative capabilities, and sustaining tight collaboration across the PaMaMariSan area to secure long-term public safety.
