LAW enforcement officers arrested a notorious fugitive facing eight outstanding warrants for heinous and violent crimes during a high-stakes police operation in Barangay Calzada-Tipas on the evening of October 8, 2026.
Operatives from the Taguig City Police Station, acting under the Southern Police District (SPD), executed the operation at approximately 8:00 PM, which also resulted in the arrest of three other individuals and the recovery of a hand grenade and a loaded firearm.
The principal suspect was identified as 28-year-old alias “Sonny Boy,” a resident of Barangay Tanyag, Taguig City.
Police served an active warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 262 in Pasig City, successfully recovering a live hand grenade from his immediate possession during the arrest.
A subsequent background check using the E-Warrant System uncovered seven additional outstanding warrants issued by courts across Taguig, Pasig, and Rizal.
The cumulative charges against the suspect include multiple counts of robbery, robbery with intimidation, violations of the Anti-Carnapping Law, and frustrated murder.
In the course of the same operation, authorities apprehended a second suspect, alias “Gil Angelo,” for alleged illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Officers recovered an Armscor caliber .38 Special revolver loaded with four live rounds from his person.
Additionally, two other individuals were taken into custody and charged with obstructing police officers in the performance of their official duties.
All four arrested suspects were transported to police facilities for proper booking, documentation, and the filing of appropriate criminal complaints.
Southern Police District Director PBGen. Rodel A. Pastor commended the operating units for their precision, bravery, and the successful removal of dangerous weapons from the streets.
“Patuloy nating tututukan ang pagtugis sa mga wanted person upang maiharap sila sa hukuman,” PBGen. Pastor stated. “Kasabay nito, paiigtingin natin ang mga operasyon laban sa ilegal na armas upang mapangalagaan ang kaligtasan ng publiko.” (We will continue to focus on hunting down wanted persons to bring them before the court. At the same time, we will intensify our operations against illegal firearms to safeguard public safety.)
