OPERATIVES of the Marikina City Police Station captured a 79-year-old fugitive listed as the district’s second most wanted person during an operation in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City on Monday afternoon.

The suspect was apprehended at around 4:35 PM by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 168 in Marikina City.

He faces a total of 12 criminal counts, including seven counts of rape and five counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

Under the court order, six counts of rape carry no recommended bail.

The court set bail at ₱250,000 for one count of rape and ₱36,000 for each of the five counts of acts of lasciviousness.

Following the arrest, police returned the warrant to the court through the electronic warrant (e-warrant) system and official email.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Acting Chief Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano warned that age and time will not insulate offenders from accountability.

“Age offers no cover and time offers no escape for those who abuse the young,” Abrahano said. “NCRPO will keep pursuing every wanted person until victims see their day in court.”

The NCRPO reiterated its commitment to hunting down fugitives across Metro Manila and neighboring areas, calling on other wanted individuals to surrender and encouraging the public to report sightings of suspects through emergency channels or 911.
