THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested 850 individuals and seized nearly ₱798.97 million in contraband and evidence during nationwide operations throughout August 2026, the agency announced.
In line with the program thrusts of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the CIDG executed 769 law enforcement operations targeting wanted fugitives, illegal firearms, and economic crimes, according to CIDG Director Major General Robert AA. Morico II.
Under “OPLAN PAGTUGIS” and “OPLAN SALIKOP,” intelligence-driven manhunt operations led to the capture of 526 individuals.
The arrests included one National Most Wanted Person with a monetary reward, 62 Regional, 110 Provincial, and 68 City or Municipal Most Wanted Persons, alongside 285 other wanted individuals. Operatives also apprehended eight members of communist terrorist groups and two criminal gang members.
Concurrently, the CIDG intensified “OPLAN PAGLALANSAG OMEGA,” its campaign enforcing Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Through 41 search warrants and 40 buy-bust operations, agents confiscated 118 loose firearms—comprising six light weapons and 112 small arms—19 explosives, 50 magazines, and 1,008 live ammunition rounds.
Broader law enforcement operations under “OPLAN OLEA” targeted illegal trade, environmental destruction, and consumer safety violations.
These efforts yielded ₱798,968,213.94 worth of confiscated goods, including counterfeit electronics, smuggled tobacco, petroleum products, substandard vapes, and illegal logging materials.
Operatives also dismantled a document fraud mill producing fake passports and driver’s licenses, arrested illegal recruiters alongside the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and seized unaccredited meat products with the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).
CIDG leadership praised the personnel involved, stating that removing weapons and high-value fugitives from circulation directly reinforces public safety and advances the PNP’s crime prevention objectives.
The unit reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing thorough investigations and filing airtight criminal complaints to secure convictions.
