THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recently concluded its 2026 National Lawyers’ Forum, bringing together the agency’s legal officers and key personnel from October 5 to 9, 2026.
The five-day gathering was designed to address emerging legal issues, review recent jurisprudence, and tackle practical concerns surrounding drug-law enforcement in the country.
Organized as part of PDEA’s ongoing professional development initiatives, the forum aimed to deepen the legal knowledge and operational capabilities of its personnel to ensure that all anti-drug campaigns are implemented effectively and lawfully.
A central highlight of the event featured Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) sessions facilitated by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)–Quezon City Chapter.
These sessions allowed PDEA’s legal team to sharpen their competencies and adapt to the evolving landscape of drug-related litigation and operations.
The forum culminated on October 9 with high-profile special lectures delivered by Prosecutor General Atty. Richard Anthony D. Fadullon and Court of Appeals Associate Justice Raymond Joseph G. Javier.
Addressing the assembly, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez urged agency lawyers to act as steadfast beacons of justice.
“Every successful anti-illegal drug operation needs strong legal support,” DG Nerez emphasized.
“To serve the Filipino people means upholding the rule of law, ensuring due process, and holding everyone accountable. Every legal action affects lives, families, communities, and public trust. Let us continue to uphold the law, protect the rights of our people, and strengthen the administration of justice with clarity, courage, integrity, and conviction,” added Nerez.
