QUICK police response and inter-city coordination enabled the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) to arrest a 35-year-old suspect and recover a stolen motorcycle in Caloocan City on October 22, 2026.
The incident began at approximately 4:30 PM when the victim parked his Honda Click motorcycle in front of a convenience store along Cabarte Road in Barangay Kaligayahan, Quezon City, inadvertently leaving the key in the ignition.
Upon returning shortly after, he discovered the vehicle missing and immediately sought help from personnel of the Pasong Putik Police Station (PS 16), headed by Police Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Aniway Jr., who were conducting covert patrols nearby.
Acting on a tip from a confidential informant, PS 16 operatives tracked the stolen motorcycle to Caloocan City.
Later that evening at around 8:30 PM, authorities raided a garage in Barangay 175, Bagong Silang, where they successfully recovered the motorcycle and apprehended the suspect, identified as alias “Arold.”
The owner positively identified the vehicle at the scene.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will face formal charges for violating Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, pending prosecutorial evaluation.
Following the successful operation, QCPD Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo urged vehicle owners to exercise greater caution and avoid leaving keys in ignitions.
“I urge everyone to secure their vehicles at all times and avoid leaving keys in the ignition,” PBGen. Olazo stated. “Whenever possible, park in safe, well-lit areas and use anti-theft devices. Prevention starts with each of us. Through vigilance and cooperation, we can help keep our communities safe.”
