THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) addressed two separate public safety concerns over the weekend, debunking a viral social media rumor regarding an alleged kidnapping in Barangay Loyola Heights while confirming details of a vehicular collision along Timog Avenue.

Regarding the viral online report, the QCPD conducted an immediate investigation into a social media post claiming an attempted kidnapping occurred on October 21, 2026, in front of a cafe along Esteban Abada Street.

According to authorities, a security guard had received an unverified tip from an unidentified person about two men acting suspiciously, but the individuals were gone by the time the area was checked.

Subsequent police validations—including a thorough review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Studio A and Barangay Loyola Heights—revealed no evidence of an attempted abduction or any similar incident.

In a separate incident, the QCPD responded to a road crash at approximately 2:20 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, along Timog Avenue corner Scout Tobias Street in Barangay Laging Handa.

Initial investigations showed that a Yamaha Mio motorcycle, driven by an individual identified as “Gran,” collided with the front-right side of a Mitsubishi Montero SUV driven by “Vin.”

The impact caused minor damage to the SUV. While no injuries were highlighted, police impounded the motorcycle after the driver failed to present valid vehicle registration documents and a driver’s license.

Background checks confirmed neither the driver nor his passenger had prior criminal records.

Following these events, the QCPD reiterated its call for motorists to strictly obey traffic rules, practice caution at intersections, and ensure all vehicular papers are updated, while assuring residents that the police force remains proactive in maintaining peace, order, and public safety across the city.
