THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has intensified its security operations to hunt down and dismantle clandestine “micro-scam hubs” operating discreetly across Metro Manila.

This strategic pivot comes as organized cybercriminals increasingly abandon large-scale compounds in favor of smaller, concealed residential properties and ordinary-looking establishments to evade detection.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano committed to maintaining unyielding pressure on these underground networks.

The directive follows Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla’s recent revelation regarding three active micro-scam hubs operating within the metropolis, prompting swift action from law enforcement.

“These criminal groups may change locations, shrink their operations, and hide behind ordinary-looking establishments or residential properties, but they cannot operate beyond the reach of the law. We will tighten the net, pursue every credible lead, and work relentlessly to identify those behind these schemes,” PBGen. Abrahano stated.

In response, the NCRPO has mobilized all five police districts and specialized intelligence units.

Authorities are stepping up surveillance, tracking unusual community activities, and forging tighter coordination with local government units and partner agencies to pin down the exact locations of these illicit operations.

Beyond raiding physical sites, law enforcement efforts are zeroing in on the wider criminal syndicates—targeting the masterminds, recruiters, financial backers, and logistics facilitators who sustain the fraud.

Investigators aim to dismantle the entire infrastructure rather than just individual outposts.

Emphasizing an intelligence-driven approach, Abrahano assured the public that all gathered data and community tips will undergo rigorous verification to build airtight cases for prosecution.

“Our objective is clear: locate these operations, dismantle their networks, and bring those responsible to justice. We will not allow Metro Manila to become a safe haven for individuals who exploit technology to deceive and victimize the public,” Abrahano stressed.

The NCRPO is strongly urging citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious digital or financial operations in their neighborhoods.

Community cooperation remains a vital asset in exposing hidden fraudulent activities and shielding the public from widespread online scams.
