OPERATIVES from the Makati City Police Station arrested an 18-year-old male suspect and confiscated approximately 563.5 grams of suspected shabu valued at around ₱3,831,800 during a follow-up operation in Barangay Pio Del Pilar late Saturday night, October 17, 2026.
The suspect, identified through the alias “Michael” and a resident of the same barangay, was taken into custody following an investigation triggered by a tip received by the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) regarding a suspicious parcel.
According to reports, a concerned citizen discovered that a package had been opened, exposing a transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Acting on the report, joint personnel from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and SIDMS launched an immediate verification and follow-up operation.
Authorities spotted the suspect near the corner of Santuico and Facondo Streets, where a reporting witness positively identified him.
Upon noticing the approaching police officers, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly pursued and cornered along Javier Street.
Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor lauded the successful operation, highlighting the significant blow dealt against the illegal drug trade.
“Malaking halaga at dami ng suspected illegal drugs ang ating nasabat sa operasyong ito, bilang bahagi ng ating patuloy na pagsisikap na pigilan ang pagkalat ng droga sa ating mga komunidad,” PBGen. Pastor stated.
“We will continue to intensify our anti-illegal drug operations and strengthen our partnership with the public to hold those involved in the illegal drug trade accountable. Our goal is to make our communities a safer place to live, work, and do business,” added Pastor.
The suspect is currently detained at the police station while investigators finalize the necessary criminal complaints for violations of Sections 5 and 26, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) for referral to the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
