QUICK-acting operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) successfully apprehended a 45-year-old female suspect in a “salisi”-style theft following a swift follow-up operation on October 13, 2026.
Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Christopher Olazo commended the La Loma Police Station (PS 1), under the leadership of Police Lieutenant Colonel Jose Luis Aguirre, for the prompt arrest of the suspect, identified by the alias “Kat,” a resident of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a 49-year-old retired police officer.
According to reports, the victim discovered that his belongings had been stolen while he was asleep inside his parked vehicle along Samson Road in Barangay Apolonio Samson at around 2:35 AM on October 13.
He immediately reported the incident to barangay authorities and PS 1.
Later that day at approximately 1:00 PM, follow-up operatives patrolling alongside the victim spotted a woman matching the description of the perpetrator along Ilocos Sur Street.
Upon noticing the woman holding his Infinix cellphone, the victim positively identified his stolen device, prompting police to execute an immediate apprehension.
While the cellphone was successfully recovered, authorities are still tracking down other missing valuables, including a .45-caliber pistol valued at 30,000 pesos, 25,000 pesos in cash, and a sling bag containing personal identification and bank cards.
A background check revealed that the suspect is a repeat offender with a lengthy criminal history.
Her record includes multiple prior arrests for theft spanning from 2016 to 2024, as well as past offenses involving violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and resistance and disobedience to persons in authority.
The suspect is currently in custody and will face formal charges of theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
In light of the incident, PBGEN Olazo issued a safety reminder to the public: “The QCPD reminds the public to secure their valuables, refrain from leaving personal belongings unattended inside vehicles, and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, E911, or QC Helpline 122.”
