A 46-year-old caretaker was arrested early Sunday morning, October 11, 2026, after authorities allegedly discovered an unlicensed firearm in his possession during an Oplan Sita checkpoint operation in Barangay San Dionisio.

The suspect, identified as alias “Mario,” a resident of Barangay Moonwalk, was intercepted at approximately 4:45 AM in front of a Puregold Jr. branch along DASA.

According to the Parañaque City Police Station, personnel from the San Dionisio Police Sub-Station stopped the suspect during routine checkpoint checks and asked him to present his driver’s license, Official Receipt (OR), and Certificate of Registration (CR) for his motorcycle.

As the suspect opened his black sling bag to retrieve the documents, officers reportedly caught sight of a firearm handle in plain view.

Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor reminded the public of the strict legal consequences surrounding illegal firearms.

“Ang pagdadala ng baril nang walang kaukulang lisensya at mga dokumentong ipinag-uutos ng batas ay isang paglabag na may kaakibat na legal na pananagutan,” PBGEN Pastor stated.
