LAW enforcement agencies notched a major victory in tracking down fugitives following the arrest of the Southern Police District’s (SPD) Top 1 District-Level Most Wanted Person for October 2026 during an operation in Taguig City on October 10.
The suspect, a 24-year-old identified as alias “Rey,” was apprehended at around 11:00 AM at his residence in South Daang Hari.
The joint operation was executed by personnel from the Taguig City Police Station’s Warrant and Subpoena Section, working in close coordination with the Southern District Intelligence Team of the Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR.
Authorities arrested the accused based on an active warrant issued on September 10, 2026, by the Presiding Judge of Family Court Branch 15 in Taguig City.
He faces three serious criminal charges, including statutory rape by sexual intercourse, acts of lasciviousness, and violations of Section 10(a) of Republic Act No. 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
The court recommended no bail for his temporary liberty.
During the arrest, law enforcement officers informed the suspect of the nature of the warrant and read him his constitutional rights in a language he understood.
The suspect was subsequently taken to the Taguig City Health Office for standard medical and physical examinations.
Police Brigadier General Rodel A. Pastor, District Director of the SPD, underscored the district’s firm stance against fugitives, particularly those accused of crimes against minors.
“We will continue to track down wanted persons and ensure they face the charges against them, especially those involving crimes against children. No one is beyond the reach of the law,” PBGen. Pastor said.
The successful arrest forms part of the SPD’s ongoing, intelligence-driven campaign under PBGen. Pastor to hunt down wanted individuals, serve outstanding warrants, and enforce accountability across the district.
