OPERATIVES of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) swiftly acted on an online tip, arresting a 22-year-old delivery rider in an entrapment operation on October 7, 2026, for attempting to sell allegedly stolen high-end camera equipment valued at ₱304,000.

The swift police action, directed by NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, began when a vigilant complainant sought police assistance after spotting missing professional gear listed on an online marketplace.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect, hired as a delivery rider, was commissioned to transport the equipment but allegedly failed to deliver it to the recipient, instead putting the valuables up for sale online.

Recognizing his stolen property, the rightful owner posed as a prospective buyer to arrange a meetup before alerting the authorities.

At around 2:00 PM, the victim reported the pending transaction to the Theft and Robbery Office, detailing that assorted digital cameras and lenses belonging to a 21-year-old Muntinlupa-based videographer were involved.

Undercover operatives immediately deployed to a coffee shop inside a bustling Manila shopping mall to monitor the exchange.

When the suspect arrived and presented the items, the complainant verified that the serial numbers matched the stolen gear.

Upon the prearranged signal, backup operatives closed in and arrested the suspect.

The suspect now faces criminal charges for violating Presidential Decree No. 1612, or the Anti-Fencing Law of 1979, as case documents are prepared for inquest proceedings.

PBGen. Abrahano commended the collaboration between the victim and police operatives, emphasizing that public reporting combined with prompt enforcement neutralizes illegal online transactions.

“Hindi palalampasin ng NCRPO ang paggamit ng online platforms sa pagbebenta ng nakaw na gamit,” Abrahano stated, warning individuals involved in illegal sales that law enforcement will thoroughly investigate transactions and file appropriate charges based on evidence.
