CRIME incidence across the Southern Police District (SPD) saw a notable 10.8 percent decline during the first month of PBGEN Rodel A. Pastor as District Director, with total recorded cases dropping from 74 to 66.

The downward trend was driven by substantial decreases across several major crime categories within the MaTaPatPaMuLaPa cluster.

Theft posted the largest reduction at 37.1 percent, falling from 35 to 22 cases, while rape cases decreased by 33.3 percent, from 15 to 10.

Additionally, murder cases went down by 25 percent from four to three, and physical injury declined by 16.7 percent from six to five.

District officials attributed the positive shift to enhanced police visibility, proactive crime prevention, faster response times, and stronger community engagement.

These initiatives are anchored on PBGEN Pastor’s core T.S.A.P.A. principles—Trustworthiness, Service-Oriented, Accessibility, Professionalism, and Accountability—which guide personnel in executing their duties.

While welcoming the early success, PBGEN Pastor emphasized that public safety efforts and police operations must remain steady and sustained.

“These results show that our personnel remain focused on our responsibility to serve and protect always,” PBGEN Pastor stated.

“We will continue strengthening our presence, responding to the needs of our communities, and ensuring that every police action is guided by professionalism, accountability, and genuine service,” Pastor emphasized.

As his tenure continues, the SPD chief has called on all personnel to maintain consistency in their daily operations to ensure long-term peace, order, and safety across Southern Metro Manila.
