THE Southern Police District (SPD) has ramped up its efforts to curb armed threats across Southern Metro Manila, recording 57 operations, 59 arrests, and the seizure or recovery of 62 loose firearms during the first month of PBGen. Rodel A. Pastor as District Director.
Covering the period from September 7 to October 7, 2026, the comprehensive campaign was carried out across the MaTaPatPaMuLaPa cluster—comprising Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Pateros.
Taguig City Police Station led the district in operational output with 13 operations, resulting in 15 arrests and 17 confiscated firearms.
Meanwhile, both the Pasay City Police Station and Parañaque City Police Station each executed 12 operations, leading to 12 arrests and 12 recovered firearms per station.
The successful crackdown was propelled by proactive law enforcement strategies, including Oplan Sita, Oplan Galugad, and heightened foot patrols.
These measures enabled personnel to boost visibility, intercept potential threats, and swiftly respond to dangerous situations.
For PBGen. Pastor, the numbers represent a deeper commitment to community safety and proactive policing. Grounded in his core T.S.A.P.A. principles—Trustworthy, Service-Oriented, Accessible, Professional, and Accountable—the district chief emphasized that keeping illicit weapons off the streets remains a top priority.
“We remain committed to intensifying our campaign against loose firearms through proactive, coordinated, and accountable police operations, guided by our T.S.A.P.A. principles and our duty to keep our communities safe,” PBGen. Pastor stated.
With a strong first month setting the benchmark for results-driven service, the SPD remains resolute in neutralizing armed threats, preventing crime, and ensuring a safer environment for residents across Southern Metro Manila.
