THE Southern Police District (SPD) has dealt a heavy blow to illegal gambling activities across Southern Metro Manila, recording 216 operations that led to the arrest of 545 suspects during its first month under District Director PBGen. Rodel A. Pastor.
Covering the period from September 7, 2024, to October 7, 2026, the district-wide crackdown involved the MaTaPatPaMuLaPa police stations.
Alongside the hundreds of arrests, law enforcers confiscated ₱123,006.00 in betting money used in various illegal gambling schemes.
The successful operations were driven by intensified anti-criminality strategies, including Oplan Galugad, increased foot patrols, and heightened police visibility across strategic neighborhoods within Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Pateros.
Commending the dedication of his personnel and force multipliers, PBGen. Pastor credited the strong operational output to a unified approach.
“The fight against illegal gambling requires a strong police presence, vigilance, and partnership with our communities,” PBGen. Pastor stated.
“I commend our police stations and our force multipliers for their dedication and valuable contributions to these operations. This accomplishment is a strong testament to what we can achieve through teamwork and partnership during my first month as District Director of the Southern Police District,” Pastor added.
Looking ahead, the SPD chief emphasized that community stakeholders have played an indispensable role in helping authorities identify and dismantle illegal activities.
Under his continued leadership, the district remains fully committed to maintaining pressure on illegal gambling and other forms of criminality, working hand-in-hand with local government units to secure a peaceful and orderly Southern Metro Manila.
