THE Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) officially welcomed Police Brigadier General Rudecindo L. Reales as its new Regional Director during an Arrival Honors ceremony on September 8 at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr.
The ceremony, held in front of the PRO NIR Administrative Building in Barangay Estefania, marked PBGen. Reales’s first official engagement with the regional command following his formal assumption of command the previous day.
High-ranking officials, including the PRO NIR Command Group, regional and personal staff, provincial and city directors, unit commanders, and non-uniformed personnel, gathered to accord full military honors to the incoming regional chief.
Following a meet-and-greet session and the signing of the official guest book, Reales attended a comprehensive command briefing at Kanlaon Hall.
Regional leadership presented a detailed overview of the office’s organizational structure, operational track record, and overall peace and security landscape across the Negros Island Region.
Additionally, the Regional Intelligence Division delivered an assessment of local armed groups and security threats, giving the new director a full evaluation of ongoing challenges facing the territory.
In his inaugural address to the troops, PBGen. Reales underscored a return to fundamental policing, instructing officers to prioritize crime prevention through heightened public visibility.
“The fundamental duty of the police is to prevent and solve crimes,” Reales emphasized, directing commanders to maintain an active street presence to deter criminal activity.
He further called on all personnel to uphold strict discipline, professionalism, and organizational integrity, reminding them that every action impacts public trust and the reputation of the Philippine National Police.
Reales stressed that individual accountability remains the bedrock of a credible police force, urging officers to protect their careers and families by exercising sound judgment daily.
With Reales now leading the regional command, the men and women of PRO NIR reaffirmed their commitment to delivering responsive, people-centered police service and maintaining peace and order across the Negros Island Region.
